Dear seminar speaker:
Thank you for giving an atmospheric sciences seminar at Harvard as part of our Friday series! This note is to tell you what to expect regarding your seminar audience and logistics.
Your seminar will draw a broad atmospheric sciences audience including the atmospheric groups at Harvard as well as scientists from other institutions in the Boston area. You can assume general atmospheric knowledge and this is intended to be a research seminar, so we look forward to hearing about your latest work! At the same time, please provide plenty of background material and avoid making your talk too specialized. We suggest that you pitch your talk at the level of a beginning graduate student in atmospheric sciences.
Your talk is slated for 1 hour (noon to 1 pm). We generally start on “Harvard time” -about 5 minutes after noon. We need to be done by 1 pm as some in the audience have other commitments. Plan on a 40-minute talk to leave time for questions.
Our seminar room has a standard set up with computer projector, laser pointer, and blackboard. Please let Brenda Mathieu know if you need additional equipment. The room is level and has a capacity of ~100. You won’t need a mike.
We hope you will have an excellent visit and look forward to your talk!
